BOSTON and MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA, June 13, 2006 – Iron Mountain Incorporated (NYSE:IRM) today announced the acquisition of DigiGuard, a leading provider of data protection services in Australia and New Zealand. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. In October of 2005, Iron Mountain entered the Pacific Rim for the first time through the acquisition of the Australian and New Zealand operations of Pickfords Records Management.
“Iron Mountain is committed to taking a leadership position in Australia and New Zealand,” noted Bob Miller, executive vice president of Asia Pacific for Iron Mountain. “We will continue to build out our operations here and expand our portfolio of solutions for both our local and global customers. The addition of the DigiGuard services is an important step and we are excited to welcome the employees of DigiGuard into the Iron Mountain family.”
Operating since 1997, DigiGuard is a specialist provider of offsite data storage and IT risk mitigation. DigiGuard has serviced and implemented successful solutions for large and small regional and global companies and operates in 14 markets throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Macgregor Thompson, founder of DigiGuard, will remain with Iron Mountain and lead the expansion efforts in Australia and New Zealand, reporting to Iron Mountain's managing director of Australia and New Zealand, Ian Hollow.
“This is an exciting opportunity for both our companies,” said Thompson. “DigiGuard's customers and employees will benefit from the strength and resources available from a global leader like Iron Mountain. And Iron Mountain will gain from our knowledge and reputation here in the local markets.”
