Iron Mountain will arrange for regular collection from your premises to coincide with your in-house backup schedule. Your tapes are transported in secure vehicles to an Iron Mountain facility, and immediately vaulted. At key points during transport and handling, tapes are scanned in order to track and document the chain of custody. Once inside an Iron Mountain vault tapes are monitored 24/7. Highly-trained security cleared handlers and access control ensure that your media is safe at all times.

Standardised data audit trails and barcode tracking of all media through Iron Mountain's proprietary integrated system (Tape Guard) ensures that all media movements are meticulously tracked and logged. The system provides complete visibility and control of backup tapes and allows for rapid search of your inventory to locate tapes needed for disaster recovery, legal discovery or any other purpose. Authorised users can easily request schedule changes, access reports, track exceptions and communicate with the Iron Mountain team.
